Industrial Lighting

A full range of high end industrial products with specialized modular design providing complete solutions, flexibility and unique applications.

Whilst each light has its own benefits which we always consider:

  1. Lumens per watt for electrical efficiency
  2. Lumens to lux for lighting efficiency
  3. Watts per square meter for building electrical efficiency.

It is in the third point where we are particularly proud and focused on overall efficiency of the lighting which can only be realized by utilizing our built-in Lighting Management System (LMS).

We have selected Steinel as our sensor provider where accurate high-bay sensing is critical to both safe and efficient operations.

We offer the LMS in both a wired solution as well as wireless option and will take overall responsibility for the design, factory integration and on-site commissioning of the system.

Besides pure occupancy sensing, we can:

  • perform daylight harvesting which changes the function of the luminaire from a light source to only augmenting the lack of natural or other light sources.
  • Ensure consistent lux levels so that, no matter what is happening with weather or time of day, we can always ensure constant lux levels.
  • We can manage the upper consumption as well as minimum electrical consumption to ensure not only energy efficiency but also extend the life of the luminaire.

Watts

Watts measure power use, not brightness. Focus on lumens per watt for efficiency.

  • 400 W Metal Halide gives about 40,000 lm (100 lm/W)
  • 200 W LED gives about 36,000 lm (180 lm/W)
  • Same brightness, lower power

Lumens

Lumens measure total light output. More lumens means more light.

  • Office light about 3,000 lm
  • Warehouse high bay 20,000 lm or more
  • Streetlight 10,000 to 30,000 lm

Lux

Lux measures light on a surface, lumens per square metre.

  • Offices and classrooms 300–500 lx
  • Warehouse aisles 200–300 lx
  • Assembly areas 500–1,000 lx

We run lux simulations to meet targets before install.

CRI (Colour Rendering Index)

CRI shows how accurately colours appear, scale 0 to 100.

  • Below 60, poor colour accuracy
  • 80–90, natural and true colour
  • Our fittings, CRI above 80

Kelvin (Light Colour)

Kelvin measures colour temperature.

  • 2200 K, warm yellow
  • 4000 K, neutral white
  • 5000–6500 K, daylight white

Most products run at 5000 K for clear visibility.

Binning

Manufacturers sort LED chips by brightness and colour groups.

  • Consistent colour across fittings
  • Stable lumen output
  • Minimal colour shift over time
